The mistake on this pair: sending ETH from an L2
A lot of people now hold their ETH on Arbitrum or Base. The wallet shows “ETH” either way, and the address is the same 0x.
If the deposit address is for Ethereum mainnet and you send from Base, the coins land on a chain the swap service may not watch. Getting them back, if possible at all, means a support ticket and a long wait.
Before you hit send, look at the network name in your wallet, not just the coin.
Fixed or floating for ETH to SOL?
Both chains confirm fast, so floating is usually fine and gets you the better number.
The exception is a volatile day. SOL can move 5% in an hour, and if you need an exact amount on the other side, lock it with fixed.

Do I need a bridge to move ETH to Solana?

Can I send ETH from Arbitrum, Base or Optimism?
Only if the widget lists that network for the deposit. Otherwise, send from Ethereum mainnet. ETH sent on the wrong network may not be recoverable.
Why doesn’t my Solana address look like my Ethereum one?
Solana uses a different format: 32 to 44 letters and numbers, without 0x. That’s normal. Copy it straight from your Solana wallet.
Which wallets can receive SOL?
Phantom, Solflare and Backpack are the common ones. A hardware wallet with Solana support, or your exchange’s SOL deposit address, also works.
How much gas will I pay?
It depends on how busy Ethereum is when you send. Check the fee in your wallet before confirming. ethereum.org explains how gas works.
How long does ETH to SOL take?
Usually a few minutes. Most of that is the ETH deposit confirming. The SOL payout itself takes seconds.
Can I get USDC on Solana instead of SOL?
If the widget lists USDC on Solana, yes. Pick it as the coin to receive and paste the same Solana address.
Is there a minimum amount?
Yes. The partner shows it in the widget. With Ethereum gas in mind, very small swaps usually aren’t worth it.
